When we were in need of a re-working of our old kitchen without breaking the bank in the process, we decided to have Mark and Joan Ekeren do the work needed to get the job done. Our kitchen, last summer, was basically the original kitchen built with our rambler-style house back in 1982 – the cabinets were a dark stain with brass hardware; the countertop was getting really beat up; the stove fan was badly stained and not working; and the sink also was pretty badly stained with a faucet that was leaking. Our kitchen walls were an off-white color. We had Mark & Joan put in a new counter with a new tuck-under sink, faucet and plumbing, a new fan over the stove, a pothanger and new kitchen island cabinet alongside the stairway. Then we had them paint the cabinets white and put on new brushed nickel handles and hinges. Finally, we had them paint the kitchen walls an almond color. We are very pleased with how it turned out and felt it was done very economically. They worked quickly and tried to fit their work time around our schedules in order to cause us a minimal amount of disruption in our daily lives. We have received many, many compliments on the new look. In fact, many people have asked what kind of new floor we put in, and they are shocked when we tell them that this is the old floor and it just looks that much better with the work that was done to our cabinetry and walls. We are so pleased that we hope to have them come back this summer and do a new counter and sink and some other incidental work in the upstairs bathroom. We highly recommend them and their work.
